To date, there are 58 Crow testers that fall under haplogroup I-F22033. FTDNA estimates this man was born around 1750, but we know based on the paper trail for all the Crows the more likely birth of this man was before 1720CE. It's possible this man was born in Europe or was the son of our immigrant ancestor.

There were several Crow men living in Spartanburg, SC in the mid to late 1700s. The paper trail is near impossible to determine how each are connected. The goal was to Y-DNA test direct male descendants of each man to try to find genetic mutations called SNPs to build a genetic family tree. Some testers would confirm to be a Gold Crow and test I-F22033+, but their lines would not show any more elaborate genetic branching we would hope for to decipher relationships between individuals. We know that most of these individuals were closely related, but I cannot say what the relationship was exactly. The good news is that we did find genetic branches that confirms lineages of several men. For instance if you test positive for I-F22033 > I-FT225611, you will be a direct descendants of John Crow b1760 who married Eliza Clark. The same goes for a few other mid 1700 Crow men.
Here are the examples we have through all this testing:
Thomas b1760 had at least two genetically confirmed sons. Francis and David. We were able to determine that Thomas was I-FT293300+, due to two of his sons testing positive for the SNP and no other Gold Crows showing positive. Another SNP I-FT294300 was created in David, I know this because his dad and brother were negative for the SNP. So all descendants of David will be I-F22033 > I-FT293300 > I-F294300
Samuel, born sometime in the early 1770s, has 3 genetically confirmed sons. Coleman , William and Samuel. All the men were I-F22033 > I-FT120295+, So I know Samuel was the creator of the SNP or his unknown father was. Another SNP was determined to be born in Johnathan I-BY106428, his descendants tested positive for this SNP and it was not found in his brothers or father. Any Crow who tests positive for I-FT120295 will a direct descendant of Samuel.
John Crow born around 1760, married Eliza Clark. Had 4 genetically confirmed sons. William, Stephen, Abraham, and James. These 4 sons' descendants all test positive I-F22033 > I-FT225611, So I know that this SNP must have been born in John. All descendants of John will be I-FT255611+Randolph Sr. born around 1770, had 3 genetically confirmed sons. Levi, Thomas and Randolph. Randolph Sr. and his sons were I-F22022 > I-FT379739+, while no other Crow tester were positive. Any direct descendant of Randolph will be I-FT379738+
Unknow Crow born around 1780, had 3 genetically confirmed sons or grandsons, Marcus, John. and Silas. Each son tested positive for SNP I-FTA772, so any descendant of this man who tests positive will be a close relative to these men. Any future I-FTA772+ will be from this branch and will not be a descendant of any of the other Crows mentioned above.
James born around 1740, is the earliest confirmed Gold Crow. One of James' sons or grandsons tested positive for I-FT186613, while James did not. Any future I-FT186613+ tester will descend from Levi or be very closely related.
Another man that lived close by to these individuals was Isaac born around 1782, he was found not be a descendant of I-F22033, and not a Gold Crow at all. His descendant tested positive for E haplogroup and matches to the Stalnacker family from Germany. The connection goes back to 1650ce. It is unclear weather this Isaac was the result of a non paternal event, or if his father, was a Gold Crow or if Isaac was adopted? These men are assigned to the Red group in the Crow Project. This group testing back to Germany is an interesting development, and suggests our Crows lived amongst some of their peers from the same ethnic group in Spartanburg, SC.
